With each SD being assigned the process starts with a FULL LITTER OF PUPS! They are Watched from birth to 8wks of age. Only THREE TO FOUR are selected to become SD CADETS. Which allows other litter mates to go to homes - ensuring timely homing as companions for currently registered homes (all pups are assigned by TLGSD).

These pups take part in multiple stages of determining their SD potential over the next weeks... A LOT of observation of behavior!

ONLY ONE CAN BE SELECTED FOR THE JOB...

Although more often than not, more than one pup has the abilities needed to do the job as well as more than 3/4 to be SD CADETS!

Pups here at HGS are allowed to start going to homes at the earliest 8wks. The litter is released only once the FULL LITTER meets our guidelines for "HOME READINESS"

#1 Drinking Water & Eating Solid Puppy food for at least 2 weeks without ANY nursing from mom or assistance/encouragement needed.

#2 Completed Wellness Evaluation

#3 Received 1st Vaccines and had at least two rounds of worming formula (worming is suggested be continued if in a populated area each month at least to 6 months of age )

#4 Basic Socialization with both adults, kids and other dogs (if raised and conditioned around any type of animal, noise, behavior or lifestyle your pup will be tolerant {conditioned: trained, taught or simply accustomed to}

#5 BE AT LEAST 8 WEEKS OLD!! WE DO NOT EVER UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE HOME A PUP BEFORE THEY WHICH 8wks and or the 4 "HOME READINESS" guidelines listed above. [ASKING FOR THIS EXCEPTION WILL ENSURE YOUR REMOVAL FROM OUR REGISTERED HOME LIST AS PUPS WELLBEING IS NOT BEING CONSIDERED]

Looking to add to your family?

Here at HGSD we do not breed until we have at minimum 6 pups pre-registered for OR an SD is being placed. Pre-Registering allows us to ensure all pups produced from our line have ready & waiting homes, before they are even born! The only time we will have puppies available to the public without preregistration is when to provide an SD needed a litter was born without all pups homed (SD LITTERS are not presold as pets because they each are potentials for the sD position. Once the final two candidates are selected any available pups will be listed here, they are eligible for pick up ("Gotcha day") the day they are released and posted!!
